“A-10 Dominance & National CONTENDERS.”

Your 2025 A-10 CHAMPS
The 2025 Atlantic-10 Conference campaign was perfect for the Spiders. They were flawless (5-0) in regular season Atlantic-10 play, securing an outright Atlantic-10 regular-season championship.
That momentum culminated into a dominant conference tournament showing in Philadelphia. Riding the confidence of the top seed, Richmond dispatched UMass 14-4 in the semifinals, then powered through the championship game with a 16-10 victory over High Point to claim the Atlantic-10 Tournament title and propel the Spiders into their 6th NCAA Tournament.

Spiders Make History in Chapel Hill
The Richmond Spiders etched their name into the history books with a landmark NCAA Tournament win on May 11, 2025, defeating No. 8 seed North Carolina 13–10 in Chapel Hill. It marked the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament victory.
The Spiders showcased a balanced offensive attack and a relentless defense that stifled the Tar Heels’. This breakthrough not only validated Richmond’s rise as a national contender but also symbolized the program’s fearless mentality by taking down a perennial powerhouse on the biggest stage. The win propelled the Spiders into the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time, cementing the 2025 season as one of the most memorable in program history.

A Battle to the Final Whistle
In the NCAA Quarterfinals, the Spiders went toe-to-toe with No. 1 seed Cornell in one of the most thrilling games of the tournament. In front of a packed crowd, the Spiders showcased their trademark toughness and discipline, trading blows with the nation’s top team in a back-and-forth contest.
Despite seven lead changes and seven ties, Richmond fell just short in a 13–12 heartbreaker, but the performance underscored the Spiders’ ability to compete with the very best on the national stage. The effort was a statement to the lacrosse world: Richmond is not only a contender in the Atlantic 10, but a force in the NCAA landscape.
